Facilities

Services tailored for communities

Throughout the Park, we are planning essential facilities for education, healthcare, community centres, leisure, public spaces and emergency services.

In introducing these facilities we need to be sensitive to local needs and plan very carefully the way that new amenities are delivered. For example we need make the most of what's already nearby, build on models that work well and integrate existing and new communities. We can do this by offering shared local amenities like schools, surgeries and spaces for worship, placing them in areas which will help benefit the surrounding communities.

Getting these services right, without creating divisions between old and new, will be crucial to creating the communities that will be at the heart of the long-term success of the Park.

Our partnership promise

We are working in partnership with local organisations and the London Boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Greenwich.

If the Olympic Park is to act as an effective catalyst for regeneration of the wider East London area then we know that we have to work hand in hand with many different partners to make this happen.

Plans and areas for consideration

Here's an idea of the public services which are likely to be included on the Park:

  • Sports and recreation facilities
  • Community centres and spaces
  • Play spaces
  • Healthcare facilities
  • Local shops
  • Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs)
  • Educations facilities

As confirmed plans for the Park become more available, detailed descriptions of the facilities for the area will be included on this site. Watch this space!
